Since we opened our doors in 2008, we've been working hard to become a Polk Street institution.  Even our name derives from a book about a San Francisco dentist who set up shop on Polk street in nearly our exact same location.  We've stuck to this theme because we love the idea of carrying the history of old San Francisco entrepreneurs into the living tradition of the local watering-hole.  By day, McTeague's is a great place to watch games and sporting events (especially if you are a fan of Big 12 Sports or are keen to watch English Premier League Soccer) on one of our many large flat panel high definition displays.

   By night, our fun and often lively atmosphere has helped us to grow to become a staple on Polk for night life, and a great place to come sample our extensive selection of bourbon, scotch, and other premium spirits.  We are currently in the process of our second round of renovations since we opened. In our first expansion, we added a 2nd bar in the middle "lounge" section. With a few extra flat-screen's and a pool table. This area is a nice place to chill and stay out busy front section.  Our latest update continues further back into the bar.  The back section is even more secluded that is perfect to host private parties and events.  This latest revision was scheduled for completion just in time for the Saint Patty's day festivities of 2011.
